Amitie Furniture
Amitie - the star of the annual Baan Lec Suan Fair - now shines on a sub-soi of Thonglor with a range of rustic French wooden furniture.
Major fans of rural-style furnisshings, pals Panomporn Tresukosol and Wannipa Keatkajohnjumroen set up the store last year, borrowing the French word for "friendship".
The shop has two floors, a cosy atmosphere and a genuinely surprising collection of hand-painted hardwood furniture and zine garden tools,
Many of the designs are inspired by flowers and animals, and quality pinewood imported from New Zealand is used in lots of the pieces. The tones range from pastel pinks, blues, yellows and greens to creamy white.
"The french country style always comes in sweet colours and looks comforable," says manager Wanapa Larpvorakitchai, "while the English style is inspired by the rose and looks simple but strong."
The store stocks cabinets, drawers, benches, chairs, stools, dining tables, wardrobe, coffe tables, bookshelves, beds, sofas, mailboxes, cages and trays.
